Open to the public till 31 May 2026, the exhibition invites visitors to discover a vibrant range of artistic expressions and encounter these compelling works, experiencing Aguad as a space for reflection, dialogue, and artistic presence.

In collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, DAG (formerly Delhi Art Gallery) brings 𝘼 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚: 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙋𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨, 𝙘. 1790 𝙩𝙤 1835, the largest exhibition in India showcasing the diversity of Company Paintings and the artistic brilliance of Indian painters, to Aguad Port & Jail Complex.
The exhibition looks at how Indian artists responded to the demands of their patrons, creating entirely new templates of Indian art.

BHARAT through the lens of Bhanu Athaiya
Prinseps is delighted to announce the second edition of its exhibition, ‘Bharat Through the Lens of Bhanu Athaiya’, curated by Brijeshwari Kumari Gohil. Bharat Through the Lens of Bhanu Athaiya’ is a celebration of the life and work of Bhanu Athaiya, a multifaceted artist who left an indelible mark on the world of art, cinema, and fashion. Athaiya's contributions as an artist, illustrator, film and theatre costume designer, and art advertisement conceptualist are unparalleled. Notably, she stands as India's first-ever Oscar winner, a testament to her creative brilliance. Prinseps introduced this exhibition with its first edition at Bikaner House, New Delhi in January this year, offering visitors a comprehensive overview of Bhanu Athaiya's remarkable legacy. Included as part of the Aguad entry ticket.

HIGH TEA FOR G20 DELEGATES - GOAN MONSOON FOREST THEME
Aguad was once again a host to the tourism working group when they were in Goa. The theme for the event was that of a Goan monsoon forest. The G20 delegates were treated to jazz music with a Konkani flavour and some of the traditional Goan food such as fish dangar quesadilla, choriz pao, local jackfruit tostada, and choicest desserts. The fort was built around 1612 to defend the Portuguese past of the coastal state.
INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY
The Goa Jazz academy’s celebrations of the International Jazz Day were held at the Aguada port and jail location. The evening began with a presentation of studious jazz by the students and faculty of the Goa jazz academy, followed by some eclectic jazz by the Karan Khosla quartet, with two Dutch musicians lending their mite to the mix. The piece de resistance was undeniably, the outstanding saxophone play by Dutchman, Ben Van Dungen who had jazz fans eating out of his palms, even as his talented quartet mesmerised everyone with sublime jazz.
DINNER FOR G20 DELEGATES
Aguad hosted the G20 Health Working Group of the Sherpa Track while they were in Goa. The theme for this event was that of the Goan Flea market. Multiple performers & artist showcased their skills making the night memorable.
THE WEIGHT THAT REMAINS {BY TANVI MALOO MEHTA}
An alumni of Rhode Island School of Design, USA, Tanvi works to understand interior frames of mind expressed in the realities of life. Her work displays “Duality, Acceptance and Faith” where Duality is understood as the most powerful and natural way of life. Tanvi’s work invites us to explore this very human experience.
ANTI BODIES
Antibodies is a 24 hour festival of performance art hosted by HH Art Spaces in Goa in collaboration with The Tetley, Leeds, UK and live streamed online. This international collaboration is part of Antibodies, a Live Art programme that celebrates performance art and migration, supported by British Council’s India/UK Together Season of Culture. The programme brings together a range of international artists to reconsider the body and the border, in both current geo-political terms and in the extended realms of myth, magic and healing. Artists will give performances that explore our bodies as sites of susceptibility, places of protest and decolonial devices able to reclaim embodied histories that are told, shared and lived.
